[Troubleshoot] How to Fix High CPU Usage in Windows?

Hello members,

I got 100% CPU usage even when not using programs. It slows down my computer enormously. In Task manager there is no process which takes that much CPU. I tried windows troubleshooting, c cleaner and install newest updates but this didn’t change anything

(Windows 10).

Please follow the steps given below:-

Method 1: Disable Superfetch

  1. Open Taskmanager, click “More details,” then click “CPU” to order processes by how much CPU they’re using.
  2. Press Win+R, type “services”
  3. then in the Services window scroll down to Superfetch.
  4. Right-click Superfetch, click Properties, then in its Properties window click the drop-down next to “Startup type,” click “Disabled, and OK.

Method 2: Change your power plan to balanced.

Method 3: Adjust Windows 10 for the best performance (Visual effects).

Method 4: Disable startup applications.

Method 5: Optimize your hard drives by using defragment.
