Yesterday Alienware announced its new machines one of which was the Aurora R11 gaming desktop that comes with liquid cooling which quite different from what we are used to seeing as tweeted by Asetek. It looks like the GPU will be liquid-cooled with a radiator built into a PCI-Express slot below the graphics card, which Asetek is calling the Rad Card. According to Asetek, this setup reduces noise by 69% and temperatures by 20%. He also explains that the Rad Card draws its power and fan curves from the GPU, which is easy to operate. Asetek made the decision to use blower-style coolers. The Alienware Aurora R11’s chassis doesn’t have huge amounts of airflow, so this might be the only way to effectively remove the heat from the system. So, do you think this type of cooler should be available in the market?
