[Question] Does a bigger pc case actually mean better airflow/cooling?

Hello members,

Many times I have read things essentially like “the bigger your case, the better your airflow”. But I am wondering if this is true. Wouldn’t actually a smaller case provide better airflow? Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Not necessarily, it all depends on air flow. A mid tower with proper fans at right places can be cooler than a full tower with different fans at wrong places. The advantage with full tower is that you have lots of space and components aren’t crammed up so they have room to breathe. This keeps them cool but this isn’t the only factor that affects cooling. At the end, it all comes down to what you are building, if you are building extreme rig with lots of components like two or more cards, then you definitely need full tower. However, for a single card, mid tower is the best as it isn’t huge and provides proper cooling.
