[Buying Suggestion] Is it worth to buy own router or use the provided router by ISP is better?

Hello members,

If an ISP provides a router, is it still worth spending money to buy your own router?

It’s also worth noting that many ISP-compatible gateway devices are of higher quality and work better than ISP-provided devices.

If you understand routers and networking, get your own depending upon your requirements.

Else let the service provider install theirs and manage. In case of a problem they will not be able to blame your router. Just make sure that you know how to access and change the default wifi login passwords…

Note:- But if you plan to move, there’s no guarantee that the router you purchase will be compatible with the requirements of your new ISP. Some providers don’t actually allow you to use your own router with their service.
